When you take four months off of school, it's surprisingly easy to forget you still have to go for at least two more years. So...it's back to Provo for me-back to the bubble. It really does feel like a different world, but it's not as hard for me to make the adjustment from the "real" world to Provo (and vice versa) as it used to be. Coming back and forth is just a way of life for me now.
I'm currently taking a break from unpacking...as exciting as that sounds. I'll probably go for a run in a few minutes, and then I have to come back to finish the job. I don't mind, though (even if I do have to miss the volleyball game for it), because I want to do all I can not to be stressed out once school starts.
So I've been at my new job for two days now, and I really like it so far! The bosses are way nice and I feel like a grown-up because I get to sit at a desk and have my own computer. And...I get to write things that will actually get published somewhere! The McKay School of Education has a partnership with five of the school districts in the area, so they contribute a lot of time and effort to improve education in the schools. In turn, they learn what the children need so that BYU can produce better teachers. The public relations office helps out a lot with promotion through articles in different magazines and on the website, as well as in other ways. It's actually really cool how it all works. I don't think I realized how interested I was in education until recently. That's the awesome thing about public relations-you can go to school and learn public relations skills, but then you can take those skills into whatever other field you're interested in-education, medicine, technology, entertainment, or whatever you want.
Anyway, I've mostly just been learning about the job and what goes on around it, but I started writing my first feature today. It was a little harder than I was expecting to start writing again, especially news writing, and I've been a little slow. But I'm sure I'll get faster with practice, especially since I'm taking a News Reporting class this semester. I don't think I really have a choice but to get better and faster.

Adri's Wedding
The first of our freshman roommates was married in the Mesa temple this weekend. It was the first time I had been closely involved in a wedding of a friend rather than family member. It was a lot of work, but so much fun. Two of our other roommates (there were six total), Jamie and TyRee flew into town for the event, and the three of us were bridesmaids. That meant we got to spend a lot of time with the bride on the last of her single days, do her hair and nails, and offer moral support, among other things. We took her out to lunch and gave her presents, and the night before the wedding, we all stayed in the hotel room together. It was like being roommates again for one night. Of course, we also got to dress up and be in some pictures with her. Adri had me a little worried about the dresses at first (she definitely didn't talk them up for us), but they actually looked really good! Fortunately, she didn't make us stand in a greeting line with her at the reception, but that meant we ended up spending most of that time eating the reception food and taking pictures on our own cameras, as well as on the disposable ones they left on each table for the guests to help capture their memories (she'll definitely won't be able to forget us!). Here are some of the pictures:

I Want to Write
I think about things I could write on my blog way more often than I actually post. Some of them are too personal, some are too teenager-y, and some just seem like they would be too boring or trivial to ask others to read. But today I thought I'd write about Sunday School. For those who don't know, I was recently called to be one of the Sunday School teachers at my church. Of course I accepted, even though I was actually terrified. It's hard to turn down something you know the Lord has your back on. Besides, I'm sure it's great practice for my Public Relations future, as people keep reminding me.
Today was my second lesson ever, and even though there were probably 50 people in the class and even though I was really nervous, it was a lot less intimidating than last time. Somehow it seemed easier and I was able to stay focused much better. I actually sat down afterward thinking that I kind of like this teaching thing. I learn a lot more preparing a lesson than I do by listening. A few people even came up to me afterward specifically to thank me for the lesson. It's a great feeling to know that you are serving the Lord and that He is pleased with you. I hope I can learn from this experience that God is also willing to help me in other things I do that are good, and not just in my church service.
