I Want to Write

I think about things I could write on my blog way more often than I actually post. Some of them are too personal, some are too teenager-y, and some just seem like they would be too boring or trivial to ask others to read. But today I thought I'd write about Sunday School. For those who don't know, I was recently called to be one of the Sunday School teachers at my church. Of course I accepted, even though I was actually terrified. It's hard to turn down something you know the Lord has your back on. Besides, I'm sure it's great practice for my Public Relations future, as people keep reminding me.

Today was my second lesson ever, and even though there were probably 50 people in the class and even though I was really nervous, it was a lot less intimidating than last time. Somehow it seemed easier and I was able to stay focused much better. I actually sat down afterward thinking that I kind of like this teaching thing. I learn a lot more preparing a lesson than I do by listening. A few people even came up to me afterward specifically to thank me for the lesson. It's a great feeling to know that you are serving the Lord and that He is pleased with you. I hope I can learn from this experience that God is also willing to help me in other things I do that are good, and not just in my church service.
